Quick Start Guide: Elgato Prompter Accessories

Setup time: About 3–5 minutes per accessory

Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver and the appropriate 1/4-20 mounting tool

Compatibility: Designed for the original Elgato Prompter.

Important: These accessories are not compatible with the Elgato Prompter XL.

What You’re Installing

This guide covers the following ZOSS accessories for the original Elgato Prompter:

  • DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Baseplate Adapter
  • Magnetic DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Mount
  • MagSafe Phone Mount for Elgato Prompter

Before You Begin

  • Power off and disconnect the Elgato Prompter before installing accessories.
  • Place the prompter on a stable surface.
  • Remove the camera, phone, and other accessories before changing mounts.
  • Keep all original Elgato screws and parts in a safe place.
  • Confirm that you have the correct accessory before beginning.

Important: Support the prompter while removing or tightening hardware. Do not over-tighten screws or force an accessory into position.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Baseplate Adapter

Installation

  1. Remove the stock cloth hood or camera hood from the Elgato Prompter frame.
  2. Install the Elgato 82mm baseplate.
  3. Align the hood cartridge with the slot in the 82mm baseplate.
  4. Slide the cartridge into the baseplate until it sits flush and the light seal is engaged.
  5. Choose the side you prefer by removing and flipping the cartridge when needed.
  6. Position and fluff the fabric around the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 to block as much unwanted light as possible.

Best Practices

  • Make sure the hood cartridge is fully seated before using the prompter.
  • Arrange the fabric evenly around the camera without restricting gimbal movement.
  • For bright outdoor shoots, angle the prompter away from direct light sources.
  • A small amount of ambient light may remain under extreme lighting conditions.

Tip: Reposition the fabric after adjusting the camera to maintain the best possible light seal.

Magnetic DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Mount

Installation

  1. Remove the screws holding the stock camera plate.
  2. Remove the stock plate and keep the original hardware in a safe place.
  3. Position the Magnetic DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Mount on the prompter.
  4. Reinstall the original mounting screw or use the provided 1/4-20 screw.
  5. Leave the screw slightly loose so the mount can move vertically.
  6. Slide the mount up or down to match the height of your magnetic DJI Osmo Pocket 3 case. Designed specifically for your MagCases, but any magnetic case should work!
  7. Tighten the mounting screw securely without over-tightening.
  8. Attach the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 to the magnetic mount.
  9. Confirm that the camera is secure and properly aligned before recording.

Important: Always support the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 when attaching or removing it. Confirm that the magnetic connection is fully engaged before moving the prompter.

MagSafe Phone Mount for Elgato Prompter

Installation

  1. Support the stock monitor before removing its screws.
  2. Unscrew the two Phillips screws on the back of the stock monitor.
  3. Carefully remove the monitor and set it aside.
  4. Keep the original screws for installing the MagSafe Phone Mount.
  5. Align the MagSafe Phone Mount with the two mounting holes.
  6. Attach the mount using the original screws.
  7. Tighten both screws evenly without over-tightening.
  8. Attach your MagSafe-compatible phone or phone case.
  9. Open your preferred teleprompter app and position the phone for comfortable viewing.

Important: Test the magnetic connection before letting go of your phone. Use a MagSafe-compatible phone or a secure case with a properly installed MagSafe ring.

Quick Troubleshooting

  • Hood cartridge will not slide in: Check its orientation and make sure the 82mm baseplate slot is clear. Do not force it.
  • Light is entering around the camera: Reposition and fluff the fabric around the camera while keeping the gimbal clear.
  • Camera does not align with the prompter: Loosen the Magnetic Pocket 3 Mount, adjust its height, and tighten it again.
  • Camera feels loose: Remove and reconnect the magnetic case, then confirm that both magnetic surfaces are clean and fully engaged.
  • Phone mount feels loose: Confirm that both Phillips screws are installed and tightened evenly.
  • Phone does not hold securely: Verify that the phone or case is MagSafe compatible and correctly centered on the mount.
  • Accessory does not fit: Confirm that you are using the original Elgato Prompter. These accessories do not fit the Elgato Prompter XL.
