THE OSMODO 1 SYSTEM

Original OSMODO Rig for DJI Osmo Pocket 3

One idea. Two ways to rig.

Standard keeps the original enclosed shape for a compact, phone-controlled setup. PRO opens up the top for easier access to your camera's controls. Both belong to OSMODO 1, with compatible parts to help you shape the rig around your shoot.

The OSMODO Rig has been a game changer. I originaly got the Pocket 3 to get some side gigs and make some extra money. I figured the Osmodo Rig would help me look more professional and it did way more than just that. Almost every shoot I'm at I get asked about it, how the rig is made up, how functional and modular it is. Its landed me more deals, clients, events, I just regret not getting it sooner! Even though the Pocket 3 is a simple/budget/entry level camera, I've been treated like a professional using mine with the rig!

This Is Something like when you see it for the first time look very goodfor your DJI Osmo pocket but when you try it in real time have too many difficult use , if you are using the Y angle 16 mm you perceive all the time the black borders in your image beside that the quality is too cheap. The plastic is so bad I buy it and one week after the plastic of the handheld is broke. And the bad thing is that your policy of return is restricted about that because you know that the quality is bad in the end. The plastic is so bad you don’t let put pictures here in the other way people can see where are you selling to the people?

I’m loving this damn thing

Good quality but the housing gets in the shot when you pan or tilt at even moderate speeds, for which I have to deduct two stars as it’s such a basic and massive flaw. Also would have been great if they had left a cutout / flap for the joystick and record button to still be accessible in an emergency without undoing the whole thing. I hope they can create a new compatible sled to place the Pocket 4 into the same housing when it is released next month, so we don’t have to buy the whole thing again. If you sent this out to existing customers who request it for free, this would be a cool move to make up for the disappointment of the housing getting in shot. If you were to offer a cheap shorter cylindrical hood as an extra (that still allows you to fit a filterless matte box just to complete the look but not have any screw on filters) so that the gimbal is slightly covered but there’s no possibility of it getting any of it in shot, I’d buy it as an add on. Otherwise it’s a great product.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. it is genuinely helpful.

You’re absolutely right that in some situations, especially when doing faster pans/tilts, the front hood can creep into frame. For more sporadic or quick movements (or when you don’t need to run filters but still want the rig look), the front lens section can actually be removed and the rig used without it, which gives the gimbal a lot more clearance. Ensuring follow speed is set to fast will help mitigate that as well.

Based on feedback like yours, I’ve already started working on a shorter front lens element that doesn’t accept screw-on filters but still adds protection and completes the look. I’ll move that version up the queue so it’s available sooner as an add-on.

On the controls side - the new OSMODO PRO housing has an open cutout design, which makes the joystick and record button accessible without having to undo the whole rig. If you like, you can order just the PRO housing so you don’t have to rebuy a full kit, or we can look at starting an exchange to help you move into that version.

For the Pocket 4, a compatible camera mount is already in the works. Once I’ve had a chance to fully test it, I’ll release it as a separate piece so existing OSMODO owners can upgrade the core mount without having to purchase an entirely new setup.

I really appreciate you calling out both the strengths and the pain points. Feedback like this is exactly what helps me refine future versions and accessories. 🙏

Hi All
Nice job on the design, I have already made a few mods on it but it's been working great and every time I pull this out of a bag on a set, people start asking me questions about what the heck it is. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

What is the difference between Standard and PRO?

Standard uses the original enclosed housing and a phone-first workflow. PRO has an open top for easier access to the camera's controls and additional rigging options.

Which cameras fit OSMODO 1?

The Standard rig is listed for DJI Osmo Pocket 3. PRO supports Pocket 3 or Pocket 4 with the matching camera mount. Check the exact product and selected mount before ordering.

Is the camera or everything in the photos included?

The camera is sold separately. Included accessories vary between rigs and prebuilts; use this product's What's in the Box details to check exactly what you receive.

Which filters and matte boxes can I use?

The original front system accepts 82mm screw-on filters and compatible 95mm clamp-style matte boxes. Other front accessories may need a different adapter.

Can I use OSMODO 2 accessories?

Some accessories are shared, while housings, mounts and other parts are generation-specific. Choose parts that explicitly list your OSMODO 1 model as compatible.
